Business Support Services from PIKE

PIKE exists to help North West businesses to protect themselves against the threat of crime. As a result, the project aims to help companies to improve their profitability and long term commercial stability.

It does this through a range of free services and facilities.

How can PIKE help businesses?

  • PIKE provides free advice and knowledge transfer between businesses and partners.
  • It can analyse crime and disorder issues for businesses, using data from published crime figures and questionnaire surveys of businesses in the North West region.
  • It can analyse the impact of crime and disorder on the business communities.
  • It can provide advice and help to develop suitable and sustainable responses to crime and disorder issues.
  • It can organise and host workshops, seminars and networking opportunities for businesses to explore the issues of crime. At such events, examples of best practice will be identified and disseminated to the SME business community.

What can your business expect from PIKE?

  • An initial visit will be carried out on the business.
  • The business will be invited to cluster meetings, seminars and workshops arranged by PIKE, providing networking opportunities.
  • Following the initial visit, the business will be revisited and a risk assessment form and baseline data regarding the business completed.
  • The risk assessment form will be analysed and advice given through an action plan and ongoing advice and support.
  • The action plan will be monitored and an evaluation of progress and development of the business will be ongoing.
  • Each business will receive website information, regular newsletters and information alerts.

What can’t PIKE do?

PIKE cannot provide any funding or affect local authority, public service or other authority decision making.
