Role:
June is responsible for the overall running of PIKE which involves developing
partnerships with agencies and businesses across the North West to implement
the aims and objectives of the project. By facilitating and developing
real and active support networks amongst the business community, PIKE
will be able to provide support and help to over fifty businesses.
Biography:
Before joining the University, June helped to set up a social enterprise
related to recycling and environmental improvement which employed people
from chaotic, dysfunctional or socially excluded communities and the long
term unemployed. Previously a civil servant working for the Home Office
at the Crime Reduction College near York, she developed and delivered
crime reduction training for community safety partnerships and also delivered
training on problem solving and community safety at the National Police
Training Centre at Bramshill, Hampshire on the International Commanders
Programme. June was originally seconded to the Crime Reduction College
from Lancashire Constabulary where she was the head of the community safety/crime
prevention team within the Partnerships and Community Safety department
at police HQ.
